Electric Heaters (Our Top Three)
What You Might Want To Know:
An average electric heater uses 1500 Watts maximum.
1500 Watts produces 5100 BTUs of heat.
Whether you are searching for an electric heater fireplace,
an electric heater baseboard, an electric heaters at
Walmart, an electric heater for garage, a quartz heater, and
so on, if it is rated at 1500 Watts, the amount of heat is
going to be about the same. Technically all 1500 Watt
heaters are all the same. Of course, some seem to be
better made than others.
Below are our three suggestions, based on price and reviews.
At the time of this posting, all three of our choices
INCLUDE free shipping. (Prices and shipping are

How much space will an electric heater actually heat?
Based on an average room with 8 foot high ceilings, there is
an easy formula that you can use.
With 8 foot ceilings an electric heater will heat about one
square foot per every 10 Watts.
A 1500 Watt electric heater will therefore heat about 150
square feet (1500 ÷ 10 = 150).
What does this mean to you?
It means that you should be able to heat a 10-by-15 foot
room, an 11-by-14 or one sized to 12-by-12 1/2 feet with a
standard 8-foot ceiling.
Naturally a poorly insulated and/or drafty room or area is
not going to heat well. Large rooms and odd shaped
rooms are probably not going to heat well.
How Many Amps?
Most of us do not think of asking this
question and, fortunately,
amperage should not be an issue.
A 1500 watt heater at 120 volts
uses 12.5 amps.
Common Electrical Code requires a minimum
of 15 amps per room.
